LISTEN & SHARE: Alien Atmosphere – “Sail Away

“Indie pop fans of the Coldplay persuasion will enjoy the, uh, atmospheric quality of the music against the emotive energy in the vocals.”

American rock-pop duo Alien Atmosphere shares its debut single “Sail Away” right in time for summer playlists. The inspiring, anthemic ballad is anchored by an infectious chorus and encourages listeners to escape reality. The track has already garnered local support in the band’s hometown of Tucson, AZ., where the pair will celebrate its release with a FREE show at Hotel Congress in Tucson, AZ this Saturday, June 8th. Formed by the identical twins Nick and Matt Kwilosz, the band champions unique hooks that flaunt versatility by comfortably fitting in blues, pop, rock and adult contemporary. The multi-instrumental brothers formed the band in 2012 and have since developed Alien Atmosphere from a promising local act to an up-and-coming national contender that’s shared the stage with household names such as Awolnation, Jimmy Eat World, The Offspring, Anberlin and Neon Trees.

The Kwilosz twins earned much of their songwriting chops from grandfather Lloyd Conger, an accomplished blues and country artist. In these blues roots, the twins found both their instruments and artistic personas. The pair’s collaborative spirit soon outgrew living rooms, local venues, and early ambitions, though their unique studio dynamic has remained unflinching.

“It’s surreal,” said lead vocalist Nick Kwilosz. “We wrote a song about escaping reality but the experience of being able to finally share it with our fans is something we’d never want to escape. Sail Away means a lot to myself and Matt and we’re just hoping our fans are able to connect with it on a similar level.”
