Bringing the beloved stories and characters to life for families and fans of all ages through innovative art products and experiences, Magical Memories featuring Disney Fine Art is hosting free, special artist events at the gallery. Live performance painting, free drawing classes for all ages and skill levels, book signings, meet and greets and more with many of the most popular and prolific Disney fine artists are planned for the coming weeks.
The schedule of free events and artist appearances is as follows:
May 4 - 5 | John Ramirez
Artist John Ramirez will be painting and signing live at the gallery on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 from noon – 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. He will teach a free class for all ages and skill levels on how to draw cartoon characters on Friday and on Saturday from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
John Ramirez is a professional animator, storyboard and visual development artist, designer, illustrator and art director. His work can be seen in many feature films, including Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Hercules, Toy Story II and Tom and Jerry, The Fast and the Furriest and Disney TV Elena of Avalor. A versatile artist, he has applied his creative skills in many fields, including being on the design team of theme parks around the world including numerous museum exhibits, parades, mascots and award-winning floats in Asia, Australia and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. Highlights include design work for Lotte World, Everland, The Taejon Expo and The 2010 Baekje Parade in South Korea. Also The Yokohama Expo, Kurashiki Tivoli Park, Park Espana in Ise-shima Japan and has done concept design for Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland.
May 11 - 13 | Tim Rogerson and Trevor Carlton
Tim and Trevor will be painting live and signing works Friday, May 11 from noon – 2 p.m., and 5-7 p.m. and on Saturday, May 12 from noon – 3 p.m. On Saturday night, you can catch the artistic duo painting live at the first annual Pinecrest Academy Master Teacher Gala. Tim will be painting live at the gallery on Sunday, May 13 from noon – 2 p.m., and again from 4 -6 p.m.As an Orlando, Florida native, Tim Rogerson developed an early bond with Disney’s iconic characters and mythology through his father’s work with Disney Parks as an Entertainment Director. After completing art school at the prestigious Ringling School of Art and Design he worked as a character artist on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom® Park. Tim was then discovered on the world stage as a fine art painter and became an official artist of the Disney Fine Art collection.Widely-known for his mesmerizing live performances in which he paints beloved Disney characters in a matter of minutes and all set to music, Trevor Carlton, is one of the most popular Disney Fine Artists. He will be performing his live painting and signing his work.
